Stone cave ,Mountain-Igloo’ made of clay
This small, elongated rock landscape offers your aquarium and terrarium inhabitants such as catfish, perch, small lizards or even mice or dwarf hamsters a nice hiding place that blends in wonderfully with a naturally furnished tank. The large opening at the top can be used as a planting aid for very eagerly digging inhabitants, or simply as an entrance.
Unlike the similar “Mountain” model, this cave only has the large entrance in the cave ceiling and is made as a closed igloo at the other end.
All our caves are handmade, air-dried and then cleaned and sanded to remove any corners or edges.
As all clay caves are made by hand, variations in colouring and dimensions may occur, as each is an incomparably unique piece.
We use stoneware clay for the production of our clay articles, which can be high-fired and contains a varying proportion of fireclay depending on the product.
On the one hand, this makes our products very stable and durable.
On the other hand, the surfaces are never completely smooth, which provides an excellent basis for surface growth, which in turn is very readily grazed by catfish or shrimps.
