In this reference book, the two authors Ingo Seidel and Andreas Tanke present all known species of the pleco genus Ancistrus .detailed. These loricariid catfishes are presented in detail in more than 600 high-quality images by fish photographers and scientists, with only a few species of uncertain scientific status being omitted. Seidel and Tanke were able to collect some unpublished material and also identify some Ancistrus species that were not previously known under this name in the hobby. The book provides a complete overview of Ancistrus . The systematics, origin and habitats, but also the care and breeding in aquaria are described in detail.
